According to Pastor Herbert Jackson, “Asia was on an assignment from God to spread the message of hope.”

One thing we always wonder when someone young is taken from us is “why?”  Why should a young person be given life only to have it taken away so soon?  What is the meaning of it all?  In fact, it is easy to come the conclusion that God does not care or is not involved, if He even exists.  However, He does care and He does have a plan; it is just too complicated, sometimes, for us to see it easily.  For this reason, God gave us hope and faith.  We have faith that He knows our names, our dreams and our feelings and hope that His plan is designed to be the very best for us, despite the fact that we may not understand.

One reason that Asia’s life was so important, even though she was so young when she was taken, is that she has become for so many people a symbol of that type of hope.  Lauryn Hill said, “Just because a person smiles all the time doesn’t mean their life is perfect, that smile is a symbol of hope and strength.”  We never know exactly what others are facing, but we do know that having hope in the face of tragedy and grief makes us stronger.  Asia has become a symbol for that strength for thousands who never even knew her.  Through her death, God has used her as a way to reach people who otherwise might never think of the grand design for their own lives.

That does not mean that it is easy to understand or accept when someone we love goes too soon.  The pain is almost unbearable, but through that sorrow we learn to lean on our Father.  We learn that His timing and His will are never wrong, even though it is difficult for us to understand.

As for Asia, the outpouring of love and strength seen after her death far surpasses anything imaginable.  She has truly become a symbol of hope, flying forward to the horizon, leading us to a better life and a better eternity through her Father whose face she sees every day.
